Charles Seife's Homepage

I am the author of Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea, published by Viking in February, 2000.

By day, I am a journalist (specializing in physics) with:

Science

I have also written for:

New Scientist

The Sciences The Economist

Scientific American

Philadelphia Inquirer

and other publications.

For a fairly complete list of published work, click here. My resume is also available.

Before I wandered into science journalism, I was a mathematician. My undergraduate degree is from Princeton and I received an MS from the Yale mathematics department. (My Erdös number is [at most] 5: Erdös -> Rothschild -> Golubitsky -> Collins -> Moss -> Seife. [Thanks to Steven Strogatz for finding this!])

I also have a MS in Journalism from Columbia.

I am a member of the National Association of Science Writers, and DCSWA.

In my spare time, I fence sabre and epee. Before my move to DC, I was co-president of the Westchester Fencer's Club; I'm now a member of DC Fencer's club and I belong to USFA.

My first homepage was reviewed by Excite. It got a rating of -- which is somewhere between "must see" and "if you're desperate." My second homepage is also available.
