These sites make strong statements about the state of mental health services. Support Coalition & Dendron News Home Page Mental Health Consumers' Self-Help Clearinghouse The National Empowerment Center Another well-known advocacy organization, led by a man who, in recovery for schizophrenia, went on to become a psychiatrist. Bazelon Center Home Page Legal Advocacy Medical Sites:U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) A government site Online Dictionary of Mental Health An academic site These two sites each comprise hundreds of research papers, position papers, abstracts of journals, and other articles. The National Library of Medicine (NLM) is actually a network or dozens of other databases. The Online Dictionary of Mental Health is not a list of definitions, rather, it is a collection of papers complied by the University of Sheffield Either of sites could take months to plow through. This would be the place to start if one were doing scholarly research, or was seeking access to same. Medscape This site is backed by what appear to be commercial interests.
