Pam G.'s story:

When I was first diagnosed with mental illness, I was shy and wouldn't talk to anyone. I excluded myself from the outside world. I was in the hospital 3 times, but never longer than a week each time. It was different. I thought I was the only one with my illness. They had groups that helped.

Now that I'm better, I hope to understand my illness and cope with the outside world. By getting help, you have to help yourself.
