Tired of the Streets
Sung to "Papa Don't Preach"

Papa I know my dreaming got you upset
I always wanted to see the world
You would tell me how
I must be crazy
I never did know right from wrong
Only to make it you must be strong
I may be young at heart but I know what I'm saying

You taught me how to live without
The things my friends never knew about
Don't want to live like this
'Cause it's driving me crazy

Tired of the streets
Can't get on my feet
Tired of the streets
Too much city heat
So I've made up my mind
I'm joining the Navy

They say that it will be good for me
Teach me pride, give security
In order to live my life I must sacrifice
But my friends keep saying it's a big mistake
Saying it's no fun, I ought to break the date
But they don't see how to improve their lives

Tired of the streets
Can't get on my feet
Tired of the streets
Too much city heat
So I've made up my mind
I'm joining the Navy

I wish all my friends weren't too blind to see
Just how good life 'suppossed to be
They'd all want to sign up right now
And give it a try

Tired of the streets
Can't get on my feet
Tired of the streets
Too much city heat
So I've made up my mind
I'm joining the Navy
