Faculty

The faculty at St. Barnabas Hospital are young, board certified, generalists and specialists who genuinely enjoy teaching. Although they share the consensus that postgraduate medical education demands intellectual curiosity and self-motivated independent study, they also recognize the importance of didactic teaching, "hands on" bedside instruction, and fostering the development of clinical judgment. The faculty has the opportunity to teach in the general medicine and specialty clinics, on the "wards", at daily noontime conferences, and at weekly Medical Grand Rounds.

Many of the attendings have ongoing clinical research projects in which residents are given an opportunity to participate during the PGY-3 year. Each house officer is expected to meet regularly with a chosen or designated faculty advisor.
