Schober Organ Notes No. 40
OVERTURE
As I've mentioned in letters to a few folks in our group: Of late - MY
TIME seems to be in very short supply! I've noticed, for example, that
group activities appear to be consuming more and more TIME ... TWO "FUN"
ACTIVITIES I REFUSE TO CURTAIL ARE: PRODUCING OUR GROUP'S NEWSLETTER -
and - CORRESPONDING WITH THE NICE FOLKS IN OUR GROUP!
BILL KOHRUMEL, in addition to formatting the "master-copy" of ORGAN
NOTES, has offered to help (me)! However - I have taken a few additional
steps to "free-up" TIME! Two of them were the "GREAT IDEAS" I presented
in O.N. #39: (Address labels & Help in mailing letters to Service people
on the MITA list). The response to the address labels request, although
smaller than I'd hoped for, was far better than the response to the latter
request!
Incidentally - we have "picked-up" a couple more names to add to our
list of "TECHNICIANS WHO WILL SERVICE SCHOBERS": One suggested by DAVID
BLAKE:
MR. LUTHER HORNING
SOUTHWEST MUSIC
4717-B MENAUL BLVD. NE
ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87110
Ph: (505) 881-2232
And one the result of a mailing by LARRY SMITH:
MR.E. ANDY SEITZ
THE CIRCUIT RIDER
945 GRAND AVE., PO Box 324
BILLINGS, MT 59103-0324
Ph: (406) 252-1232
Or: (800) 398-1232 (answering machine).
TOM THOMSON
(our KEEPER OF THE SCHOBER ARCHIVES) writes the following; "Would you please
put an ad in the next newsletter, for me, for either (or both) the Devtronix
Tone Generator and/or the Schober TTG-6 both for the Theatre Organ. TOM
went on to say; "I'm also wanting to build a stock of ALL Schober Theatre
Organ parts (I just built shelves to store these). When I have some sort
of stock of these, I'll print a list of things available (not trying to
profit, but help) in excess of what I can use myself.
TOM finished with; "ALSO PLEASE LET OUR PEOPLE KNOW THAT I REALLY WANT
ANY AND ALL SCHOBER LITERATURE. I WOULD LIKE PHOTOCOPIES, ORIGINALS, OR
I CAN PHOTOCOPY ORIGINALS AND RETURN THEM TO THEIR OWNERS.
If you can HELP Tom - in any way - PLEASE .. PLEASE! do so! Here's Tom's

TELEPHONE CONTACTS
VLADIMIR WEISS indicated that he'd prefer phoning "TECHNICIANS on the MITA
list" and furnished a couple of "area codes" he'd be happy to cover. This
suggested that perhaps there were other folks in our group who might prefer
"phoning" over writing"!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Vladimir also suggested the following (phone call) approach; "Hi, my name
is .... We got your name and phone # from the MITA listing. I'm a member
of a small but nationwide group of electronic organ enthusiasts. We are
trying to assemble a list of technicians our members can call on. Do you
service electronic organs? Are you aware of the name "Schober" electronic
organs? (If the answer is "no", the call may end here). Do you have repair
manual(s) for Schober organs? Have you had an opportunity to work on Schober
organs? Do you want us to add your name to the list of "Schober service
technicians" to be distributed to our members? Thank you.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
IF YOU LIKE VLADIMIR'S "PHONING" IDEA - LET ME KNOW - AND I'LL BE HAPPY
TO SUPPLY YOU WITH NAMES, ETC. FOR ANY AREA YOU REQUEST!

FINALE
DAVID BLAKE'S recent letter - triggered a thought .. (in addition to a
few other ideas - see sheet #2 of this issue) ... that folks with "other
make" organs might like to communicate with and "help" each other? IF YOU
LIKE THE IDEA - DROP ME A LINE WITH YOUR THOUGHTS!
