Schober Organ Notes No. 44

OVERTURE

BACK ISSUES OF ORGAN NOTES

Well, I finally "got around" to sorting the back issues of our newsletter. I have quite a few ... so I can safely offer them to folks who are interested. Just let me know what you're looking for; be it one particular issue or all issues prior to issue #??. I do have some individual issues but a much larger number are abridged. EX: 3, 4, or more issues, with "no longer valid" items deleted, have been abridged to one sheet (front and back) - so, assuming you're in need of issue #7 ... you might get a single #7 or an abridged #6 through something or other! If you request all issues before a certain issue # ... you'll probably receive some single and some abridged issues. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU WANT AND I'LL LET YOU KNOW HOW MANY STAMPS I'LL NEED. My mailing address is at the end of this newsletter. You can also contact me via my Email address: oranur@juno.com

DEVTRONIX/RAY DEVAULT Ray's Email address was "red lined" in Organ Notes #43. The reason: Ray notified me that he had gone to a different Email service (but it was too late to make the change in our newsletter - so I just red lined the "no longer valid address". His new Email address is: devtron@aol.com

SCHOBER 1 BD. T.G.

DAVE GAIRO writes; "I went through my information and found some of the parts sources I used to get components for the IC tone generator. The main chip on the board is Schober part #: 1750240. This is the Top Octave Synthesizer (TOS). I found this part at KEYBOARD SYSTEMS 3637 East 7800 South Salt Lake City, UT 84121 Fax: 801-943-7889 Phone: Parts Orders 800-728-5361 Inquires 801-943-7888 e-mail: Keyboard@SystemsInfo.com They have a web page: http://www.xmission.com/~keyboard/ The web page cross references various part numbers to Keyboard Systems parts and includes diagrams of the chips. They have TOS and divider ICs for many organs and keyboards. The part for the Schober IC tone generator is: KS-83 and the price as of Nov. 96 was $39.95. (A little high, but you need it, don't you?) They also have MIDI retro kits and vacuum tubes. Other ICs on the Schober board are 4024 dividers which can be ordered from many electronics suppliers. I got mine from Allied Electronics and the cost was $.42 each. By the way, I am still looking for the tuning coil for the IC tone generator board. Schober part number is 0323. If anyone has one on knows where I can get one (or a replacement), please let me know." Here's Dave's address: 1302 Gibson Rd. #73 Bensalem PA 19020 Email: davidjgairo@unn.unisys.com
