About the Cattery: history.
I started breeding Siamese cats in the 1960's and then took a break from active breeding for a couple of years. By the late 1960's I missed having kittens around but had a consulting business that occupied much of my time. Around 1970, I saw a sign for a local cat show near my office location, and of course, needing a kitten fix, went in. I was immediately in LOVE with the Siamese that were there and then in a corner I saw a very beautiful and very unhappy looking Redpoint male about 2 or 3 years old in a cage for sale. I fell in love with him as he was by far the nicest looking redpoint I had ever seen and was totally miserable, unhappy, but very sweet and purred when I picked him up. I brought him to my office and set up a room with beds, litter pans, food dishes and a large collection of toys and goodies I had bought at the show. For the next few weeks I spend much time giving him attention, and he turned out to have a lovely personality and was my companion all the time I was in the office, which was many hours evrey day. I showed him a few times and he did allright but didn't like shows much. I bought a couple of females and starting breeding litters again. That was the start of the present cattery.

Then a few years later, a new breed of cat appeared that had the best of the Siamese without the points, the Oriental Shorthair. I immediately was very interested in these really beautiful and new cats. They were provisional, not yet accepted for show, but the breeders were showing them so the judges and board would get to see them. They claimed they could be bred in ALL colors and patterns. So I took them at their word and bred a calico domestic to a quite extreme lilacpoint male I was showing at the time and got my first ORS litter, two red/white bicolor boys and a very respectable oriental type dilute calico (bluecream) which was the first bicolor registered as far as I know with the registration number of 2327-000001. Her brothers had their class number and 000001, 000002. Then the evil purists reared their heads and blocked show status of the bicolors for close to 20 years. So the female went to a judge in another registry that did accept bicolors and the two boys went as pets. Bicolors have always been my first love and I have been breeding them most of the time I have been breeding cats.

While we breed for the best in show standards, Health is always number one, and personality a very close second. We maintain a vrey low degree of inbreeding, most of the kittens are extremely outcrossed. We expect our kittens to have long and vrey healthy lives. Our oldest stud, SCG Closlucile Holdup, born 5/5/92 in Appoigny, France,a very lovely chocolate and white bicolor OSH, has been producing lovable and very healthy kittens since he was 6 months old. He has a very high degree of immunity and has never had a URI or been sick in any way in his entire life. Our other stud, a youngster born in summer of 2000, has also been prodicing very typey and very healthy kittens since he was about 8 months old. Both boys produce super personalities. Holdup has been my bed kitty since late 1992, and is one of the best on the planet, IMO.:)))))))

Most of the time we are in a small town about 60 Km north of New York City. We also have a small apartment in the 3rd arrondissment in Paris, France where we try to spend as much time as possible as Paris is a fantastic and magical city.
