Note: Use of FIFe EMS codes
Many of the photos and pedigree references here are designated in EMS codes. This eliminates some confusion, especially outside the USA, as to what the actual breed or color really is. Some of our local USA registries use non-standard names for what is elsewhere standard colors, such as chestnut for chocolate or patched tabby for torbie etc, as well as CPSH for a subset of the standard Siamese breed etc.
The EMS system is much more absolute as to the actual breed and or color and can be looked up on the web on the FIFe website with a link provided, or a local short list, which makes a chocolate a chocolate in all breeds and registries. The use of the EMS system makes the actual color reference absolute regardless of the registry or country.
