Where to Find Forms on the Internet
``Form follows function." --Frank Lloyd Wright

About six weeks ago, I started combing the Web, looking for good sites that had useful forms. There were not many on the accounting side; however, as you might expect, quite a few legal sites offer them, so this article focuses more on those.
For smaller firms, there are services that will help you save a lot of time, particularly if your assistant is unavailable. These are like the software ``help" wizards--they walk you through step by step and ask questions. Then they use the information you supply to fill in the blanks on a form and send a complete first draft of a pleading paper or contract document back to you. Prices for most of these services are modest, and usually based on the length/complexity of the document. Prices start at around $3.00 and go up to about $15-20 for the most detailed. Other services offer a flat rate subscription fee for which you will have unlimited access to their forms datatbase.
Few sites offer the breadth of the forms published by most State Bar Associations, but many of them focus on consumer-type documents , such as wills, small claims court papers, and child care powers of attorney. For the most part, I have ignored those sites here and focused on locations that will be helpful to legal practitioners, rather than the general public, because of their great resources. I hope you discover here some that you may not already know.
